All Barking Dog Website Design (BDWD) clients must complete the New Client Questionnaire. This provides me with general information and details I need to understand the project. BDWD and client will have phone or in-person consultation before a formal relationship is agreed upon and established.
Completion time typically takes around two weeks but varies according to the time frame in which you provide website content (e.g., verbiage, images, form requirements, etc.), your availability during the design process, and my current project load.
A 50% non-refundable deposit ($249.50) is required prior to starting new projects. Your deposit will reserve your project’s position in my schedule and count towards your final New Website invoice.
The project start date is the date that I register your domain name. The project start date and the date of down payment may not be the same.
New websites will be billed in full 2 months after the project start date or when the project is complete, whichever comes first. If the new website is incomplete because you have not provided the content necessary to complete your project, you will still be invoiced in full. If a delay is caused on the part of BDWD, the final invoice will be delayed or adjusted accordingly.
Basic Maintenance is included with all new website projects for 12 months after the project start date. Revisions to your website after that point fall under the terms of the maintenance option you select. If a maintenance option is not selected (free or paid), your website may go down after 12 months. If Basic or Enhanced Maintenance is selected and payment is not made, revisions will not be made to your website. Maintenance plans are billed for the calendar year and will be prorated for one year only (when partial calendar year follows initial 12 months of Basic Maintenance). Maintenance fees will not be refunded if maintenance is terminated mid-year.
You are responsible for complying with licensing agreements and copyright laws for all content you provide. BDWD is not liable for any content you provide. BDWD may modify images you provide (while retaining the original) in order to improve their usefulness or appearance on your website. Stock images are not included in Basic Setup. If stock images are desired, additional fees may apply.
Clients are responsible for promoting their website. BDWD does not offer website promotion and does not guarantee traffic or sales.
WordPress Theme* copyright belongs to the theme creator. Clients receive theme customization as part of the design process; they do not own the theme. Clients retain the right to modify the theme and revise website content after new website completion according to the maintenance option they select.
Credit for the theme (and link to the theme owner) will be included in the footer of your website. Design credit for theme customization (and link to BDWD) will be included on your website. BDWD retains the right to display graphics and other web design elements as examples of my work and to include a link to your website as part of my portfolio.
*A WordPress Theme is a collection of files that work together to produce a graphical interface with an underlying unifying design for a weblog. These files are called template files. A Theme modifies the way the site is displayed, without modifying the underlying software.
